Latest News

Year 5 arrived at school on Monday morning to a shocking sight! Classrooms had been trashed and punctuation posters were ripped from the walls. Even more alarming – all the punctuation had disappeared!

The mystery deepened when pupils watched a video message from Mrs Mancini, urgently asking Year 5 to investigate the crime, solve the clues and discover who was responsible for stealing the punctuation and causing the damage.

Throughout the day, pupils became grammar detectives, using their knowledge of punctuation and grammar rules to crack a series of clever clues. Every paragraph, comma and full stop mattered as pupils worked together, applied their learning and followed the evidence step by step.

After lots of careful thinking, teamwork and a fantastic use of grammar skills, the mystery was finally solved… the culprit was Miss Sumner!

To conclude the day, pupils are now writing formal letters to Mrs Mancini to inform her of the shocking discovery. These letters are showcasing excellent sentence structure, punctuation and persuasive language.

We are also excited to announce that pupils have been invited to submit their letters to the Parkside Writing Oscars, celebrating outstanding writing and effort.

It was a brilliant and memorable day that brought grammar to life, inspired creativity and reminded us all that punctuation really does matter!
